I believe all the computer features are extracted from Human system. A 'System' is one that consist of main 5 functionalities. Input, Processing, Storage, controlling and Output.
Every system has its own inputs, the inputs are processed and some of the data are stored permanently or temporarily. A system must have its own controlling units to control their tasks. The processed data must be outputted.
When comparing human system with computer system, you can identify that the computer system is made up of the themes based on human system
Human System
Take a human, human have their own inputting body parts like eyes, nose, ears etc. to input the things on their surroundings.
Human have brains that does 3 functions. i.e. Processing, Controlling and Storage.
The human brain processes the data from inputting elements and takes necessary decisions. The right part of the brain controls the left part and left part control the right part of the body.
Some of the data must be stored in our memory. Datas are stored in our memory in two natures. Some data are saved permanently and some for temporarily. Take an example, when we go for shop to buy something, we may save the name of products in our mind for sometimes. We can remind it for few days, but can?t remind it after a few months, because we save the data for temporary nature. But at the same time, we can remind the some data for lifetime. E.g. name, place, memories etc.
Human brain takes the decisions and the outputting part of human body like hands, mouth, legs etc. will output the things.
These 5 things is exactly done on computer system
Computer System
The computer inputs data through input hardware like mouse, keyboard, touchscreen etc.
The Computer Processor does 2 functions. ie. Processing and Controlling
The ALU part of the processor process the input data and Control Unit of the processor controls execution of the process.
Computer Storage system are two types. Temporary and Permanent storage. Primary memory like RAM is stored data in temporary nature i.e. Data are deleted when computer turned off and Secondary memory like hard disk, removable disk etc. are stored data permanently.
The processed data are outputted to the user through Output hardware like Monitor, Printer, Speaker etc.
There is another resemblance also.
Human = Body + Soul
Human will be a human when it has body and soul. Body consists of tangible things like hand, ear, nose etc. It can be seen and touch. Soul is intangible but it is necessary for human to do anything. Soul without body or body without soul is useless.
Computer = Hardware + Software
Computer contains hardware and software. Hardware?s are tangible things like mouse, keyboard, processor, monitor etc. It can also be seen and touch. Software is intangible but necessary for computer to do anything. Softwares are instructions for the processor to control the hardwares of computer. Hardware without software or software without hardware is useless.
