How to transfer contacts from Iphone to Android
Switching from Iphone to Android? The main issue will be transferring your contacts from your old Iphone to the new Android phone. Well no worries, this article will help you to transfer your contacts from your old Iphone to the new android phone. Here are few easy steps for you to follow.
Well both the operating systems has the ability to store or create a back up online on to their respective accounts. The Iphone has ability to store all your contacts into your Icloud account and the same way the android phones has the ability to store it into your google or gmail account. So basically you will be transferring your contacts from Icloud account to Gmail account and then you will be syncing your contacts with your android phone.
First thing you need to make sure is that your Icloud account syncs your contacts and it has a back up.
- Go to settings on your Iphone
- Scroll down and open Icloud
- Check the Contacts Sync is on (In case its Off, change the switch to On Position)
Now lets transfer the Contacts online.
- Go to Icloud.com on your computer, Log in into your account
- Click on the icon ?Contacts?.
- You can see all your contacts here. Now you have to export this as a Vcard so that you can import into your google account.
- Go to the bottom left corner and click the icon, now click ?select all?.
- And go down again and click the same icon and click ?Export Vcard?.
- And as soon as u click that you can see a Vcard file in your downloads folder in your computer.
- Now open gmail.com on your computer.
- Log in into your gmail account.
- Click on the gmail Icon in red color on top of the Inbox button.
- Click on the ?contacts? tag. You can see the existing contacts in your gmail account if you have any( email addresses you frequently use can be seen here).
- Click ?More?. Just below the search bar.
- Click on ?Import?. It will allow you to select the vcard file which we downloaded before.
- Select the file and Click ?Import?. You can see the Vcard contacts now.
- Now go to settings in your android phone
- Look for google accounts. Inside the google accounts you can see the email address which you used to sync the contacts.
- Select the email address. You can see the contacts sync tag there. Enable contacts sync.
- Once syncing contacts is done. Go to your contacts list on your phone. Now you can see all your transferred contacts on your android phone.
